BIO – Shelley Smiley

 

Shelley is a professional musician and entertainer. She is based in the Victoria area and has been playing guitar since the age of 12 accompanying herself and other members of her family in performance venues .

Shelley has been counted on numerous times to lead singalongs over the years with children, seniors, people with developmental disabilities, Sunday School music groups, international and corporate audiences . The songs that she has accumulated over the past 30 years, span decades of music and enables her to reach all audiences with the appropriate song choices. Shelley loves to entertain and keep the party interesting by involving her audience members.

She has studied theatre in Rundle Jr High and Chilliwack Sr. High school which won her awards for being the top of her class in all grades. Continuing on to study professional acting at Camosun College under the direction of Myra Benson and has incorporated her stage finesse into all aspects of performance.

Shelley recently stepped down from a 6 year gig with the Timebenders, a touring stage band based in Victoria ,and is presently performing with her brothers and sister in the Smiley Family Band.

Over the years she has been in a trio with her two sisters as the Smiley Sisters growing up in Chilliwack, toured BC and Alberta with Hart and Soul, played solo at various pubs throughout BC, did a duo with her sister Shannon again as the Smiley Sisters for years throughout BC and Alberta.
